The building called Docks “Da Re" is located in Via Guglielmo Pepe at numbers 132,134 and 136 and is located in a strategic position in the urban context of the city, adjacent to Piazza XXVII Ottobre just a few minutes from Piazza Ferretto and the main city streets. The property, is easily reachable both from the surrounding highways and from railway transport, as the station is connected to the tram with a close stop. The building, an example of minor architecture, is a building built in the second half of the 800, an integral part of a manufacturing complex called “Fornaci Da Re" named after the owner, Giuseppe Da Re, located in the Altobello area, Mestre. The current warehouses were part of a much larger manufacturing complex that included a brick and lime kiln, a sawmill, a stone-shaping plant, a sulfur mill, grain and timber warehouses and houses for the workers, some still visible today in the surroundings. The building is a commercial property overlooking Via G. Pepe, appendix of Piazza XXVII Ottobre, is made entirely of exposed brick walls with wooden floors, the roof is currently in sheet metal while the structure of the roof is consisting of the original trusses at sight. The ground floor consists of a central corridor with two lateral rows of pillars connected to each other by lowered arches that form rooms, some exposed and other plugs accessible from entrance doors. On the opposite side of the corridor there is access to an internal courtyard with the remains of a small building used as a service. The first floor (former granary), accessible by means of an internal wooden staircase to the east of the building, is composed of a single room with a double row of circular pillars in plastered brick to support the complex original wooden structure with roof pavilion . On the north-east side of the building there is the former apartment of the caretaker communicating with the warehouses, with an independent entrance from the street.
