MALCONTENTA, FORMER TERMINAL FUSINA
The property is located on the mainland in Malcontenta, on the edge of the lagoon and a short distance from the first lock of the Naviglio del Brenta. In the immediate vicinity there are accommodation facilities such as B & B and a camping site, connected by buses and Alilaguna waterbuses to the rest of the town including the Ancient City of Venice.
Surface: 888 sqm.
The building in plan has the shape of an "H" whose arms are facing south and north. The north arm is composed for the entire length of a shed while for the south side and the central part are 4 parts that join together: a bar with warehouses, an office with an adjoining passage of 4 meters height and two houses of two floors each. The different parts of the building differ in construction techniques: full bricks as regards the body placed to the south; in the northern part the long roof is instead composed of a reinforced concrete structure. All this is the result of many parts added over time. The construction of the south-facing arm, which becomes its main front on the lagoon side, dates back to the first half of the 19th century. Currently the entire building is not accessible because it is in disuse and in a state of neglect, therefore bounded by fences and barriers positioned for a general security of the entire lot. Degradation and neglect also underlined by a past fire that affected the south-east side, precisely inside one of the two houses inside the building.
The Regional Directorate of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, with note prot. n. 15441 of 09 September 2014, declared the absence of artistic - historical interest and, therefore, not subject to the provisions of protection provided for by Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004.
The property is free and in a total state of neglect.
